Business Objectives Longer term business objectives of AABC are summarised as: - To develop links with every nation on the African continent.

- To facilitate business to business enhancement programs on a selected sector basis.
- To provide relevant services to the African and Australian business community based on available funding.
- To enhance members' abilities to drive African-Australian business dealings.
- To promote a flow of information into the AABC to that can assist in achieving goals of promoting sustainable bilateral trade.

Key Strategies The AABC was established in 2006 as the Australia Africa Business Council. Prior to 2006 the organisation successfully operated for over 10 years as the Australia Southern Africa Business Council (ASABC). The following key strategies are being implemented as a means of providing an effective base to develop the organisation in its new expanded role. - Enlist the assistance of DFAT and Austrade to launch the AABC concept across the African continent in conjunction with the AABC.
- Establish direct rapport with prospective member nations and explain the positive membership/partnership benefits sufficiently to encourage their participation in the activities of the AABC.
- Establish a communication network with all members for the rapid dissemination of information to State branch level.
- Utilise the AABC website as an effective communication means to reflect the positive direction and targeted outcomes for all levels of membership including an interactive capability for business to business.
- Develop income streams to fund the operation of the AABC and enshrine the concept of user pay principle in all event planning.
- Adopt highest standards of corporate governance and transparency in all dealing of the AABC and in any related programs and projects.
